5/22 - Frosh Island Champs - Farrell
An historic day for a truly special freshmen team.  Sea crowns 5 Island Champions on the day.  Chris
DiPilato (discus,) Nick Italiano (LJ,) Mike Stabile (100 & 200,) and Mike Campione (javelin.)  In
dramatic fashion we win the discus, long jump and javelin on the last attempts.  Nick Italiano takes
down the frosh pole vault record which stood for almost 10 years.  Dan Zaccariello runs two gutsy
races in his first day running in almost 3 weeks.  His 1600, far below his best, snaps a frosh record
that was set in 1992!  PR's are the theme for the day.  Great Season!

Mike Stabile motors to victories in 100 & 200 at the S.I. Frosh champs.

5/19 - CHSAA Intersectionals - Icahn Stadium

 CITY CHAMPION!!
        "The Comeback Kid!"

Mike Murphy takes the 400 IH Intersectional title earning
Sea's first Outdoor City title in almost 10 years!

5/12 - CHSAA Sectionals - Mt. St. Michael's
Mike Murphy just misses winning a sectional championship with another school record in the 400 IH.
Big Jon Sheridan takes third with a personal best in the javelin.  Sean O'Shaughnessy ties Mike Murphy's
soph 110 HH record with a time of 16.6.

5/12 - NYCHSAA Weight Sectionals

The weight men come through for Sea's second straight championship.  Sectional
Champions include: Jonathan Lobo (M 100,) Matt Simeone (JM 800,)
Vin Giordano, Denis O'Mara, Patrick Sullivan, Donnel Cardenas (SM 4x1,)
Anthony Cerciello (JM HJ,) Joe Puccio (JM LJ,) Mike Baio (JM Shot.)
Pat Sullivan runs a big PR of 61.7 in the SM 400.

5/9 - Frosh/Soph Sectionals - Iona Prep
Speedster Mike Stabile cracks his own 200 record with a 23.6 clocking but not before copping a sectional championship
in the 100 meter dash.  Mike is quickly narrowing in on Jon Fazio's 11.1 frosh record.  Coach Kelly's sprinters record
some nice PR's.  Mike Campione takes third in the javelin held at Mt. St. Michael's on Saturday.

5/6 - Staten Island Champs - Farrell
St. Joe's cracks the top 3 for the first time outdoors since 2002.  Mike Murphy leads off the meet with a 1st place,
school record in the 400 IH.  Solid performances all around.

5/5 - CHSAA Frosh/Soph Intersectionals - Icahn Stadium
Sean O'Shaughnessy continues the Sea tradition with a city championship in the 400 IH.  The Frosh 4x400
relay snaps one of the most revered freshmen records with a 2nd place 3:44.0.

4/28 - Penn Relays - UPENN
A trip worth while as the 4x400 cop 3rd place medals in their heat.  A big anchor leg by Dave Balzer seals the
deal.
4/28 - Gold Rush - Clarkstown South H.S.
The Varsity team places 2nd in the team standings.  The Pole Vaulters have a great day with Joe Puccio
winning the varsity vault. Anthony Cerciello takes the frosh/soph in a meet record and soph school record -
11'1" Joe Tufano earns 3 medals on the day.  The meet ends with some nice PR's in the 400.

4/21 - New York Relays - Icahn Stadium
Frosh 4x100 and SMR records fall!  Mike Baio, Dan Zaccariello, Nick Italiano and Mike Stabile have solid races!
Zaccariello and Italiano are now back and healthy!  The performances earn them a traditional stop at L&B Spumoni
Gardens. * 4x100 record setting video on link BE PATIENT! *

New Frosh 4x100 and SMR Relay Record Holders

4/14 - Blue and Gray Invitational - Sea
A civil war erupts at Sea as the intra-squad meet title comes down to the final events.  "Coaches" O'Shaughnessy
and Sexton try to maneuver their pieces to the puzzle.  It seemed to be a day of depth and covering the board as
opposed to stacking certain events.  The Gray team's depth in the jumps is the key to victory.  Maniscalco runs the
800?  Murphy on a long jump pit?  Dave Balzer, the self-proclaimed MVP, takes three events as does a recovering
Anthony Cipriano.  A nice day of fun at the track.

Kudos to alumni Ray Pirrozolo '01 and Matt Sekzer '03 for helping with the day's activities.  Also, thanks to
the brave "fans" that cheered from the bleachers.
