6/2  Viking Classic - Sea
Sean O'Shaughnessy wins the 3rd edition of the Classic.

5/23 Frosh Island Champs - Farrell
The Frosh battle for 14 events and come home with a 2nd place trophey.  Anthony Cerciello
claims Sea's first frosh title in the PV in 5 years.  Sean O'Shaughnessy takes the 400IH gold. 
Excellent Season!



5/20 CHSAA Intersectionals - Randall's Island
Gedeon leads the seniors in their last meet with a 5th place medal in the steeple. 

5/13 CHSAA Sectionals - Iona Prep
Jonathan Gedeon and the 4x400 of Chris Perry, Mike DeYro, Anthony Cipriano and Mike
Gatto cop third place medals.  The Junior-Midget team wins Sea's first Sectional Weight
Championship.

5/10 Frosh/Soph Sectionals - Mount
An amazing day on both levels.  Eight Sectional Champs are crowned!!  The 8 -man soph
team win the Sea's First Sectional Team Championship!  Huge PR's and clutch performances. 
Many championships were win in the final jump/throw.  CLUTCH!

5/8 Staten Island Champs - Farrell
Jonathan Gedeon wins his first Island Championship in the steeple.  The 4x400 Relay of Chris Perry,
Dan Criscione, Anthony Cipriano and Mike Gatto take GOLD.

5/6 - Frosh/Soph Intersectionals - Mount
Fantastic meet!  Perry runs a huge PR for a soph and varsity school record in the 400IH.  Sean
O'Shaughnessy does the same in the Frosh 400IH.  Big John Sheridan defends his intersectional
javelin title.  The small soph team battles throughout the meet and just misses a City Championship
 by 2 pts, for a 4th place finish.

4/29 - Penn Relays - UPENN
4x400 takes a trip down south and posts a seasonal best.
4/29 - Gold Rush Meet - Clarkstown So. HS
Secrest leads the throwers with a big PR!  Frosh/Soph place 2nd in underclassmen combined
competition.

4/22 - Rebel Relays - Howell, NJ
Once again, the Vikings battle the winds and cold weather in yet another wet day at the track. 
The team collects 11 sets of medals and finish 3rd in the team standings.

4/19 - CHSAA Relay Carnival - Randall's Island
Sea bags 15 sets of medals and enjoys their first outdoor meet with "nice" weather.

4/8 - Mount Relays - Mount St. Michaels
Chris Perry battles the vicious winds and freezing rain to take down the Soph 400IH record. 
His performance nets him a third place medal in the varsity race.  The Varsity 4x800 nabs sixth place
medals as Big blue heads home early.

4/1 - Farrell Invitational - Msgr. Farrell

The Varsity 3x400IH relay takes 5th place medals as Chris Perry just misses the Soph Record.  T
he Frosh knock down the Jav Relay, DMR and TJ Relay.

Indoor Season
  
3/10-3/11 - National Scholastic Indoor Champs - Armory
Mike Murphy sets a school record in the 60HH.  The SMR and 4xMile all run seasonal best times.

3/4 - NY State Indoor Champs - Cornell Univ.
Frank Recce earns a third place medal on the Intersectional Relay.  This represents the first medal
won at the State meet in quite a few years.  Anthony Collica places 7th in the high jump.

2/26 - Staten Island Champs - Armory  
SHOCKER!  Sea makes a run for the island championship until late in the meet.  Recce shocks the competition a
nd takes the 3,200 and 1,600 meter races.  Murphy wins the 55HH and Collica takes the HJ.  Three Frosh School
Records fall in the process.  65 PR's are set to to close out indoor season.

2/18 - Hall of Fame Classic - Armory

Collica nabs a 2nd place plaque in the high jump.  The Frosh achieve their goal by surpassing 20 PR's. 
18 Frosh set 24 PR's!!  AMAZING

2/11 - CHSAA Intersectionals - Armory
Mike Murphy takes the 55 Dash and 55 High Hurdles City Championships.  Anthony Collica takes the high jump. 
Frank Recce runs a tough 1600 and earns a 5th place.  The team finishes in 6th place, our best finish since 98'. 
Frosh 4x400 Record is broken!

                

2/5 - Frosh/Soph Intersectionals - Armory
Ryan Eng ties the Soph record with a 3rd place 10'6" jump while Anthony Cerciello raises the frosh record to
9'0".  The Frosh 4x200 take silver medals in the #2 Fastest Frosh 4x2 in Sea History!!

1/29 - CHSAA Sectionals - Armory       
Making Sectional History, St Joe's takes both the track and field MVP's.  Murphy captures the 55HH Sectional
Title in a meet record 7.69 FAT.  He follows that up with a second place finish in the 55 dash.  Anthony Collica
jumps 6-5.25" for a new meet record and #3 in NY State this year.  Frank Recce takes two bronze medals in the 8
00 and 1,600.  Just another historic day in an historical year for the Vikings!!
     
1/20 - Jersey City Dev. - Jersey City Armory
Frank Recce and Anthony Collica are victorious.  Collica's 6-4" jump ranks him in the top 5 in NY State.  26 medals won!

1/16 - Martin Luther King Relays - Armory  -
The Frosh score all of their points in the field events to top a large field.  Congrats on a job well done!!

1/14 - Stanner Games - Armory

Anthony Collica earns a silver medal in the high jump with a 6'1" leap.  Chris Roberts earns a bronze medal in the frosh TJ. 
Secrest leads the throwers over 40 feet.  72 Team PR's.
                                    
1/7 - Soph Sectionals - Fordham Univ.
A tremendous day by a small group of fine men!  Nine guys help score 24 pts to claim third place.  Julian Laro (high jump)
and the 4x400 relay take Sectional Championships!  In dramatic fashion, the final plaque was decided on the 4x400.

1/7 - Hayes Invitational - Fordham Univ.
Mike Murphy takes the Meet's "Most Outstanding Performer" Award.  Frank Recce and Colin Sexton medal in
their races.  Frosh are led by Artie Seaman's tough double.  Scores of PR's!  Varsity and Frosh take 3rd out of
10 teams.

Varsity SMR RANKED - #3 NY STATE, #4 USA - 4th Best in the Country!!

1/2 - West Point Invitational   USMA -West Point, NY

Vikings make a great first impression at the West Point Invite.  Mike Murphy collects two medals while running
four races in the 55HH and 200 meter dash.  Anthony Collica earns his second medal in as many meets.  Frank Recce
makes up for the 800 with a courageous anchor leg on the DMR.  He took the stick in an out of contention 8th place and
brought the relay back up for third in a sizzling 4:31.9

12/29 - Grinch Developmental Meet - Fordham Univ.     
26 Medals were won on the day. Solid performances had by all!                               SMR Ranked #3 in NY STATE! 
12/27 - Marine Corp Holiday Classic  Armory
The Varsity SMR leads the day by producing a state ranked, national qualifying third place performance. 
Mike Murphy, Tom Frasca, Mike DeYro and Frank Recce combine to snap a seven year school record in the event. 
Colin Sexton runs a fast 4:43.6 on the DMR.

12/17 - Bishop Loughlin Games/ Ignatian Developmental Meet
A Sea split squad produces fast times all over the city.  At the Armory, Frank Recce and Jonathan Gedeon compete
in the first sections of the Bishop Loughlin Games - Mile and 2 Mile respectively.
In the Bronx, The Vikings take home 21 medals and countless PR's.

12/17 - Staten Island Cross Country All-Stars
Frank Recce and Jonathan Gedeon earn Advance All-Star status.  This is the first time Sea has had an Advance All-Star
since 97'.  It's the only time we've had 2 All-Stars.  Congratulations on this tremendous achievement!

12/10 - CHSAA Relay Carnival  Armory
76 Boys kick off the 05-06 Indoor Season.  Senior rookie Anthony Collica leads the team with 2 medals.  He teamed with
Vin Bulone in the long jump relay and Julian Laro for third in the HJ Relay.  The DMR places second with solid performances. 
The lightweights on the Sub-Midget 4x200 take home fourth place medals.

11/19 - NY Federation Champs  Bowdoin Park
Capt. Frank Recce represents Sea with a 62nd place finish in 17:15.7.  His performance tops Dan Mackey's 17:47 set at the
99 State Champs. An amazing 7th School Course Record for XC 05.

11/12 - CHSAA Intersectionals - VCP           
 

Frank Recce places 5th and earns a trip to the
NY State Champs at Bowdoin Park.  Anthony
Cerciello and Artie Seaman place 7th and 8th
on the Frosh All-Time List.  A tough end to a
very successful cross country season.

11/5 - Frosh/Soph Intersectionals - VCP
Anthony Cerciello rebounds in a big way!  James Connors and Joe Tufano set big PR's!  It's off to the Varsity Intersectionals
next week. 

11/1 - Frosh Island Champs - Clove Lakes Park
Artie Seaman and Greg Hauck pace the frosh to a fourth place finish.  Sean O'Shaughnessy joins the pair on the Frosh
Clove Lakes All-Time List.  This is the second meet in a row where EVERY SINGLE FRESHMEN leaves with a PR!!

10/29 - CHSAA Sectionals - VCP
A super competitive Sectional Champs on all levels.  Aiese and Freeman take some big strides on the varsity level as
DeYro goes sub 16!  The school 5 man average drops to 14:13 without 2 of the varsity seven running.  Artie Seaman
(#7,) Greg Hauck (#12) and Anthony Cerciello (#15) etch their way into the SJS Frosh All Time Lists!  28/28 Frosh PR
and 10 Frosh PR by more than 2 mins, amazing!!

10/22 - Staten Island Champs - Clove Lakes Park
Super Day for Viking XC.  Recce sets school record with a time of 16:17.  Gedeon (#5 AT) and Aiese (#12 AT) also
make the list.  Sexton (#6 AT) and also sets #2 JR AT mark.  Underclassmen Dave Balzer (#8 SO AT) and Artie Seaman
(#8 FR AT) have big days as well.  Varsity has a 5 man average of 17:16, simply outstanding.  Seaman also steps up to be
 #5 for the third place JV team. 
                      Great start to the Champ Season!

10/15 - Eastern States Champs/ Molloy JV Meet - VCP
Frank Recce records the #2 time in the CHSAA with yet another school course record, 13:13.  Varsity places 14th and
are the 3rd best CHSAA team.  Greg Hauck paces the Frosh in a second place finish, 9:53, at the Molloy JV Meet.

10/8 - Manhattan College Invitational - VCP
Wet, muddy and windy day at VCP.  School course record is once again taken down this time by Frank Recce in 13:31! 
This is our 5th school course record in as many meets.  Sexton breaks 14:00 with a 13:56 good enough for #3 AT JR! 
39 PR's set the tone for the day in one of the worst XC meets you could compete in.  Cerciello paces the Frosh to a
4th place finish in the "A" race.

10/1 - Mayor's Cup Champs - VCP
The ball continues to roll in our favor as the Vikings finish in 4th place in the Varsity, JV and Frosh competitions. 
All levels see their 5 man spreads drop and the "PROGRESS" continue.  All runners PR big from last year's Mayor's
Cup.  The Varsity posts a fantastic 14:05 5 Man Avg!

9/24 - Suffolk County Coaches Invitational - Sunken Meadow
Spectacular Day for the Vikings on all levels.  Frosh lead off with a 41 sec 5 Man Spread starting with Greg Hauck's 8:52! 
The Varsity tie for 3rd place with an 18:18 5 Man Avg, the second best of all the varsity races run!!  Recce has the 3rd fastest
time of the day.  The JV end the day with a 6 pt victory over St. John the Baptist!

9/17 - Regis Invitational - VCP
Jay Gedeon makes his 05' debut in record fashion taking down his course record set at last year's Manhattan meet. 
Recce also dips under 14:00 with a time of 13:43.  This is our second school course record in as many meets and it's
still September!  


9/10 - Wagner Invitational - Clove Lakes Park
XC 05' officially kicks off in record fashion!     
Capt. Frank Recce takes down the school course
record in 16:49.  Varsity/ JV places 5th while the
frosh take 4th place.  Solid performances all around and...."The Best is Yet to Come!"
